I’m extremely grateful for receiving the Bioengineering outreach and inclusive excellence award and very thankful for my students who nominated me.
I’m also very proud of my student Maydha Kumar for receiving the outstanding bioengineering undergrad student award 🤍
I would like to share that my student Maydha Kumar was accepted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Summer Research Program (MSRP General). I am extremely proud of her and I feel so lucky to have such amazing students in my lab.

Today 12 years ago the most wonderful creature born. She had several health issues during her last 3 years of her life, but she had me to carry her whenever she wanted to go. It’s incredible how much we can do and learn from our loved ones.

First hiking of the year … wish you all a wonderful year full of adventures, health and happiness 🤍
Little Yoda got all his belly wet, I had to carry him back. If someone knows a waterproof belly protection for short dogs, please let me know

Best birthday ever in a beautiful mountain lake, one of the many lakes of the wind river range in WY, with my faithful four-legend companion by my side 🤍🤍🤍.
I can’t think of a better way to celebrate one more year of life

I’m so proud of my visiting undergrad student Maria Orlandi. She came to my lab with just one week of cell culture training and now, after ~2 months working with me, she knows how to do cell isolation, cardiac spheroids, 3D cultures, Ca++ imaging and cell staining

I took a little time out this past week… from snowy mountains to 🦕 tracks.
Also May the Fourth Be With You 🖤. Little Yoda thinks 22 miles hike in 3 days is too much for his tiny legs, still my little guy didn’t complain

Wonderful experience for my first APS meeting. I got the amazing opportunity to share my research, re-connect with people I love, and make new connections. Definitely a very positive experience.
