What Sam does best here is not let the tears stream, they never fall his eyes just moisten.
In Pain and Glory (my favorite Almodovar) the director tells the actor to make sure he doesn’t actually cry because it’s more impactful. That’s what Sam does here.
This is one of the scenes of Sam's delivery that hurts me to my core . the way he's shouting at himself is not for the people in front of him it's directed to himself . He regrets it so much & pointing out loud to his fault . Even though Louis probably forgave him 🥲

This! It’s the entire film’s point. Gordy, child actors, horses, Jean Jacket. They’re all part of the idea that someone being given money or any sort of compensation to entertain us loses its autonomy and if it tries to regain it we then treat it as villainous.
the thing i love about the Gordy stuff in nope is that while yes Gordy tore off a girl's face and killed people, that's more on us than him. the hubris of man to think not only do we have dominion over nature but that we can exploit it for our entertainment

Rewatched Knock at the Cabin and man, truly don’t think any actor has married their own painful sincerity to that of Shyamalan’s dialogue as well as Dave Bautista. A pair just totally made for one another. Love how Shyamalan blocks his hulking frame in this too. Damn. So so good

Happy National Rescue Dog Day! July 28, 2022 I met this little lady. Within minutes, I handed over the adoption fee. They said I could make her whatever I wanted, so I said “…Lizzy?” And she looked at me: so Lizzy it was! She’s been the best part of every day since!
Happy National Rescue Dog Day! A little over 2 yrs ago, Georgie was in a TX kill shelter & saved by a NYC rescue.
A Twitter moot heard we were looking for a dog who’d get along with cats & recommended we apply 🥹
