Wintry mix is in the mix for the weekend forecast - Saturday. Once again warmer/moist air will overrun the colder air at the surface - brings a period of a mix and a cold rain by early afternoon. Will monitor for potential of light icing before temps rise above freezing. #INwx

Outlook for Feb is leaning toward above normal temps with a stronger signal for wetter than normal conditions. By no means an indictment on snow chances. We still have more than 1/3 of seasonal snow to go. In fact, two of the top 3 snowstorms on record have occurred in Feb #INwx

February is a transitional time of the year so its not terribly unexpected that we are to experience some quick swings. In 2018 the all-time warmest February day was set with a high of 78°, February 20th. In 1982 the all-time coldest of -21° was set on the 10th #INwx

Fueled by large spread in temperatures with bitter cold filling Canada and very warm air in the southern U.S. a powerful jet stream will bisect the Nation next week. While milder air is expected, challenges to long-range forecasts temperatures arise. #INwx
