Long history in customer/public service, I deeply believe in it. BA-English, MUPDD(Urban Planning). Politics can be beautiful when it’s not nihilistic.

“The driver of the car was cited for several traffic violations including negligent driving, according to the Cecil County Sheriff's Office.” From the article.
@WhitneyCorena
Congratulations. I wish I could say the same. My assault was in 1986, and even with a witness (long enough story), I think I’m out of luck. I tried in 1994, no dice even that quick. I’m very happy you got justice.
@TheRickWilson
All right, being an actual American mailman (Bill Murray voice), I'm going to tear him a new one on this. EVERY election season, we treat ALL political stuff as if it were the hottest stuff on earth. It moves the second we get it. Period. Ballots included. Especially ballots.
@TheRickWilson
In fact, I think the worse it gets for Republican voters, they will double down in equal parts fury & panic, because their brains will break from being forced to admit they were wrong by people they hold to be illegitimate. They will also do so just out of sheer defiance.
@AltmanErin
Excellent thread. I grew up down in Jackson, and your area was always one I considered more conservative. Republicans trying to win statewide seem to start counting their base there. It's good to see people practicing integrity in their politics. Your parents are to be commended
@inspixxthreads
@WhitneyCorena
90% the way there. Married 13 years this May with a 9 year old son and a wonderful wife. I’m doing a hell of a lot better than a lot of other male survivors.
@TheRickWilson
All the Democrats then have to do is say, we know we’re not perfect, but we have energy, ideas, and hope that all Americans can make it to the promised land. Are you with us?
@lesleyabravanel
They seem to have nothing but contempt for public servants in general and teachers in particular. This sounds like the training for a substitute teacher, not a regular teacher.
Ignore the Washington Post - ABC poll. It’s a ridiculous outlier (Trump up 10 over Biden—laughable). My question: How could you even publish a poll so absurd on its face? Will be a lingering embarrassment for you.
@harrisonjaime
Please have a 50 state strategy and please figure out a way to leave no House race uncontested. I know we can’t spread money everywhere, but what’s a creative & cheap way we can get a Democrat in every House race, even if they lose, bc it gets Ds out for other statewide races?
@FPWellman
I have a good friend of mine who served in the first Iraq war. Artillery. Ended up in some bunkers with the enemy. Lots he can’t talk about & I don’t ask. He tried a local American Legion. He really didn’t care for the attitude & whining about younger vets. Left & doesn’t miss it
@thejackhopkins
Ok, I’m being greedy. I want to know who set the pipe bombs at the RNC & DNC. I also want to know how the 1/6 rioters got to DC, who paid for that, and how they swung their hotel rooms. DC hotels in walking distance to the Capitol ain’t cheap.
@madrid_mike
God, I sure hope so. I’m so waiting for that. I can’t readily believe that the message the Republicans pushed on the committee actually makes them competitive in the midterms. How does any of it make anyone a dollar richer or any more secure in their persons & homes? Grievances?
@TheRickWilson
I think that if we’re careful & play this right, not only will this be the end of the Russian menace of its neighbors, but we’ll turn the flank on authoritarianism globally. They might be able to hold on to power in their own lands, but circumscribed in subjugating others.
@RadioFreeTom
You could agree with them in this way: “They are so reactionary that they stopped being conservative ages ago. Real conservatives oppose them too. We are in violent agreement.”
@TheRickWilson
Just like with DeSantis, why wasn't the margin bigger? Democrats just have to register more African American voters in the state with the highest percentage African American population in America.
@La_Raconteur
@TheRickWilson
Or what and when she wants to go back to. It’s as if she REFUSES to deal with the present day and the America we are, not what she wants it to be.
@RadioFreeTom
And no one in that friendly audience applauded him. It’s like he’s from the party of grandparents and parents who are pissed that their kids and grandkids don’t see things like they do. I’m merely different from my parents. They aren’t angry about this.
@inspixxthreads
@WhitneyCorena
It is. She has had to give me a swift kick in the butt to value my happiness & thus value us as a couple. I’ve seen three different counselors since we’ve been married. It was quite hard work at first, easier as it went along. It’s been years since either was needed. I’m happy.
@TheRickWilson
My second favorite part will be them constantly scrambling to figure out how to not cross him. They’ll find their paradise to be rather like Dante’s Inferno.
@SykesCharlie
You had the perfect word on Deadline White House. Vindictive. It perfectly describes the Republican Party today because they're PISSED they're seeing more people just fade away from them, the angry drunks at the end of the bar.
@MichaelSteele
I think the Black Panthers back in the day demonstrated that the Second Amendment was not written with African Americans in mind. Witness how quickly they passed the Mulford Act in California after the Panthers marched in the Capitol with their guns on them, very legal then.
@ElieNYC
@TiffanyDCross
I'm well aware of this trade off. Sad that so many like myself are so damn fragile they can't have a decent, uncomfortable conversation. Their discomfort, obviously, is their issue, not yours, & not your fault, let's be clear. It's ridiculous because it's a necessary conversation
@SenWhitehouse
@Carlglo
Pack the court with judges who actually respect and not despise precedent as evidenced by opinions which are consistent with precedent and the facts, say nothing about the law. This SCOTUS reeks of revenge against progress they despise.
@TheRickWilson
They're just that desperate to see themselves as the innocent and *good* people victimized by a conspiracy. They badly wish to avoid responsibility for their actions and the shame they would feel if they saw them as they really are.
@B_oySix
Kurt Cobain. At the time he died, I was just beginning counseling for surviving sexual assault at age 16. To say it was already a dark time would be a massive understatement. I understood his pain, and hated him for giving in to it, even if I understood that, too.
@jemelehill
I don’t give a damn about being nice. When you get to the point that people understand the progress you want, & they don’t like it, nothing more will sell it. However, reform the police is what’s needed & what should’ve been said the first time. Explaining is losing.
@PickEmLegend
@TheRickWilson
mRNA vaccines kept me out of the hospital. I had COVID last year, probably omicron because I’d had two shots then the booster. Death rates in counties in America following your POV are higher than those with my POV. Your approach will hurt people.
@RachelBitecofer
They DESPISE America as it is and is becoming. They refuse to accept the reality of who we are. A lot of the belligerence in Texas started taking off as the state made its transition to a majority minority state, which it’s been for a while.
@RadioFreeTom
Comer could exercise control over his caucus, immediately order Greene’s comments stricken from the record, and moved on. He didn’t, and I’d guess it’s because he didn’t want to offend Greene more than he wants to do his job.
@TheRickWilson
They won’t. They’re so pissed off that they’re not winning that they elected Karamo head of the state GOP in Michigan, in a swing state, with only a few seats to win to regain control of the state legislature. They are furious that they have to change or accept change in society.
@TheRickWilson
Exactly. But their individual liberty exercise makes them big sad and they’re mad about that. So they’re never going to admit they’re wrong or accept the legitimacy of anyone else exercising free will contrary to them.

My wife had an abruption and lost up to 1.5 liters of blood. I was holding her hand as they cut her open and the blood hit the floor. Her BP had dropped to 50/30, so she begged for me to be in there. I shut up until I got to hold our son and they sewed her up.
@SteveSchmidtSES
My wife is an African American nurse. She has her bachelors in nursing, did an online master’s degree in nursing with courses in six week units, and has just completed her online coursework in nursing informatics. To this schmuck: Golf Foxtrot Hotel. Have a nice day, pal.
Trump's Alienating Immigration Agenda - The Atlantic. The GOP attitude against ALL legal immigrants makes no sense and makes me nauseous. It is SO un-American.

I work at the USPS. We have paid sick days off. We earn four hours of it every two weeks. It accumulates endlessly until you retire. Everyone should have this. It’s a public health management tool and it’s a simple futures contract.
@woofknight
And, if you did that last step in the right way, you have hundreds of tracks in your library that you can’t access on Apple Music on your computer that you can on your phone.
@AppleMusic
, how about let me access the albums I imported from CDs I owned?
@TheRickWilson
Almost like there's a coalition of Democrats and Republican women out there who didn't like the choices. We need to get out and vote. If people don't like constantly having to put out this fire, elect Democrats, because Republicans won't ever stop on this issue.
@MarkHertling
I’m Italian on my dad’s side. Anyone notice that line from Potter in his office snarling about “the garlic eaters”? I noticed it not long ago. Still pisses me off. This garlic eater is the third generation in my family to go to college. Mr. Potter can Golf Foxtrot Yankee.
