@wensydnic It certainly cast a different light on some of those difficult scenes from seasons 7-9 that seemed counter-intuitive at the time. Erin has described N&E's S12 journey as different chapters, but that could easily apply to seasons 6-12. #Hearties

Season 9 leaned heavily into the courtship of L&E and it did impact the screentime of other characters, and it has been a difficult balancing act since the cast became a larger ensemble in season six.

Elizabeth has always been the lead character and the dominate storyline. The Showrunner and writers are doing an excellent job this season.

@poetpeterpan The show has moved on, and the writers have reinforced this by deliberately avoiding any confusing scenes or discussions between L&E. The N&E romance is a beautiful story, and Lucas will find love again with someone else (Edie?).

@Cracker46377232 Social media is littered with negativity, and the #WCTH fandom is not exempt. Most of the criticism I've seen about the show recently borders on the ridiculous and is emotionally driven instead of being based on any intellectual construct. Ignore and scroll on by!

@kadeshcolorado I agree with your analysis of the scene, and with Rosemary being Rosemary, but I thought the intent of the scene was to show that Lucas is adjusting to his role by being fast on his feet with his public interactions. I thought he handled an awkward situation well. #Hearties
