Amazing! The rapid pace of @realDonaldTrump and @elonmusk has exposed the heart of modern "protests". I saw it first in the post-election march in Chicago. And now here. These aren't passionate citizens, diligently following events and expressing themselves with Sharpies. There's professional polish. And it takes time to have a sign shop produce banners and such. And then you have to organize (fund?) a group. Things are moving so fast now that by the time the protests are ready, facts have changed. And, since the boots on the ground aren't actually invested in the facts, we get these remarkable scenes. The election wasn't close or contested as predicted when they put in the order for banners and bullhorns. But what are we to do with a warehouse full of supplies? I guess we have a dispirited walk... PEPFAR funding was restored. What do we do with these placards we had printed? We already arranged the boots; I guess we go ahead...
NOW – Trump Protestors Interrupt Today's USAID Betrayal Hearing w/ Signs Reading "Trump K*lls People With AIDS Worldwide" PROTESTORS: "PEPFAR saves lives. Restore AIDS funding now." REP. BRIAN MAST: "They didn't realize that PEPFAR was one of the many programs that did prove to be life saving. So the funding was restored." CC: @RepBrianMast

@txsalth2o It's not just me? It's so weird. There's nothing stopping the people I know IRL from getting on X and finding out what I really think. But to share it on FB?? I feel the weight of the world before pressing the button

You know, I've had that experience a lot in the past 5? 10? years - I read a paper all the way through and then when it gets to the conclusion, I have the distinct impression the conclusion was written first, or by someone else - it doesn't jive with the paper. Wish I could think of an example offhand. Science, academia, etc - our institutions of knowledge - have been broken

@mattparlmer I humbly suggest you research Middle East states who dish out oil revenue. UAE seems to have something figured out, but overall, historically, it’s pretty bleak. Humans and idleness don’t mix

@TheShawnHendrix Our Trader Joe’s held that price for months while other stores in our area were double. But… when my wife went in last week it was a 1 dozen limit. I’m sure price increase is next

@calleymeans Can you explain why the graph footnote says October 2000? Is this a chart of current documented conditions, or some 30-yr projection from 25 years ago?

@BasedMikeLee Watch this in context on her YouTube page. It's a crazy admission. It doesn't fit with her train of thought, either. Complete non-sequitur. Is the *charitable* view that she doesn't know what "censor" means? "Umbrage" seems misused as well.
