Was it weird playing Reilly for the 1st time? Tommy: “Definitely. Super weird.” 😅 #ATPDallas

@AF_Performance @TheCatchFence Clearly a stall. It accelerates from the apex of the stall as it goes nose-down vertical. Would reach close to terminal velocity in a stalled dive from 1500 ft. Question is: what caused the stall? Pilot disorientation in IMC? Weight and balance? Ice? Too steep of a climb?

@AF_Performance @TheCatchFence Not at 1500 feet AGL and 40 seconds after takeoff. No pressurization at that altitude. Plane stalled.

@TheCatchFence A stall. Plane exceeding its critical angle of attack, stops producing lift and stalls into a dive.

@andersoncooper When a plane "stalls", it's not like a car stalling -- has nothing to do with the engines dying. It means the plane has exceeded its "critical angle of attack" (ie: it has "pitched up" too steeply for the thrust and airspeed it is generating). When this happens, the plane stops generating lift -- and stalls. This causes a dive -- until and unless the stalling covered by reducing the angle of attack.

@petemuntean Respectfully, you've got to stop saying "lawn dart". Freaking offensive. People died. Full nose-down attitude vertical dive.

@petemuntean Engine failure on a twin wouldn't explain that dive. Plane seemed to stall. Instrument conditions. Did pilot lose orientation before he could engage autopilot?

@petemuntean NOT similar in size to the RJ that crashed in DC. That seats 70, this seats 10.

@bridgesuite It was equipped with night vision. Not clear if the crew was utilizing it at the time of the crash.
