“Now this is a classic! “The ER is open, but it’s not a Time Machine”
An ER Doctor’s 10 Essential Friday Night Tips: 1️⃣ Thiamine before drinking. Not just for fun—your brain needs it to avoid long-term damage. 2️⃣ Fights aren’t won, they’re survived. If you wouldn’t bet your life on it, walk away. Because that’s what you’re doing. 3️⃣ Viagra + nitrates = disaster. If you have chest pain, let us know if you took any performance enhancers. 4️⃣ If someone gets too drunk, they need supervision, not “sleeping it off.” Airway obstruction isn’t a morning problem—it’s a problem. 5️⃣ Cocaine, Adderall, and energy drinks aren’t “just a boost.” They have cardiac consequences. Pay attention to what your body is telling you. 6️⃣ Pacing yourself isn’t weak. Hydrate along the way. 7️⃣ Contact lenses don’t belong in your eyes overnight. You can develop corneal injuries that require strong antibiotics. 8️⃣ If you’re around opioids, you should have Narcan. Period. It’s safe, it saves lives, and you’ll never regret having it—but you might regret not having it. 9️⃣ If you’re blackout drunk, you’re playing Russian roulette with your life. If it happens often, it’s a problem, not a joke. 🔟 The ER is open, but it’s not a time machine. We can fix a lot, but not everything. Make choices you can live with. Make it home safe.

@AirwayLegend The 38 percenters: Group 1 - the same people that are OK with unlimited attempts and consider that success. Group 2 - the “I HAVE NEVER MISSED A TUBE” group which = you are full of crap or haven’t intubated enough patients.

Best quote of NAEMSP 25!
When it comes to considering ECMO v double sequential external defibrillation, ECMO is cool but ROSC is F-ing better! Ladies and gents, Dr. Sheldon Cheskes! #NAEMSP25

A special person for sure. It was great to meet Chief Kennedy.
Chief Charlie Coyle of @PBCFR engages the crowd at the @FL_NAEMSP Chapter meeting at #NAEMSP2025. He described the impact the 2024 annual meeting had and why he brought Fire Chief Patrick Kennedy (@CH1PBCFR) with him this year. I'd like to challenge all EMS Medical Directors to encourage at least one of your professional colleagues to attend the meeting in Tampa for #NAEMSP2026.

Fantastic discussion on vector change and DSD.
.@DrCheskes discussing 2 years following the DoseVF trial. He has been invited to give >150 talks about these results. One of the top engaged @NEJM articles. Most talks are with non-EMS (ICU, etc), which speaks volumes to an #EMS trial changing in-hospital practice! #NAEMSP2025
