@hmmlowe did you code the studies at all how experience or piloting relates to the outcomes of the study?

@SJMP1111 @itjohnstone @mbeisen very difficult i would guess to get a successful researcher to take over someone's half done grant lol

same but if your friend says it, or if the leader of your registered report says it
If your approach to research critique is “if a leftist said it it’s a lie,” you’re not doing science. If your approach to research critique is, “if a leftist said it it’s true,” you’re also not doing science. Look at the analyses, the data, the paper, the sample, the supplement,

the point is they got famous selling out the field
@eric_knowles Meanwhile I’d argue the loudest proponents of the reform movement have been willfully ignorant about the political implications of casting widespread doubt on social science findings and which political groups are most interested in funding research to support that narrative

@eric_knowles @tage_rai lets not forget that they think their first unpiloted attempt is worth reporting, mostly because they got a bunch of people to try it one time. in a paper i ask if we would in any other field compare 10 people's first time making something to the experts

@eric_knowles the reproducibility crisis is mostly from people thinking that their first, most often unpiloted, attempt at a field defining study should be definitive and is worthy of reporting...
