I was a couple hundred feet from what sounded like gunfire. Heard 4-5 shots. Grabbed my friend’s hand and started running. People were screaming. Many were crying. Glad no one was shot but having a hard time shaking the sound and panic I just experienced. #PVDFest.

One of the most heartbreaking stories I’ve covered in my time in New England. Lt. Menard was by all accounts a hero and an incredible father. Set to take his kids to Disney World on the morning he passed away. Thinking of his family today.
