Here's one of the few model things I actually never caught. In Thomas and the New Engine, before Neville reaches the bridge, Thomas can actually be seen in the distance at McColl's Farm chasing him down. I'm actually amazed I never caught this early on.

This will forever be why the PBS broadcast of TAB will be my favorite. Sadly I lost the DVD I recorded the special on, so if I lose this, it's gone forever. It is scary to even think about as I can't render it a second time.

I just have to say, in the US Thomas got the best treatment on Sprout than he did any other station. Times were fair and consistent, and rarely ever changed. When the TV Patrol gets busy, I'd love to make a segment where I talk about Thomas' American Television history.

I will never understand... But, why is "Emily Knows Best" the last episode where Toby has his S1-3 persona? He's a total wimp and a worrywart throughout the HiT Era, but this is the last episode where Toby really felt like his old self.

As much as we give HiT crap for how Thomas went downhill. One thing is for certain that I TRULY respect them for. They cared about the model era and the classics till the end and wanted to keep it relevant. I will always appreciate them for trying to keep the classics alive.

In 2010, Nick Jr. in the UK starting cutting up the model airings of Thomas to line with the shorter CGI airings. There's no official titles for these edits, so I simply dub them "Cut-Ups". Here's an example of what these are like. (1/2) Airing by:

In some Narrow Gauge Series 7 episodes, Britt Allcroft is uncredited in the opening intro. Turns out this DID also happen in the US, but only on TV. She was later re-added on US Amazon and on the Bumper Party Collection DVD. Thanks to

Mail TIIIIIIIIMEE! A HUGE load of tapes I got from December to this month. Some took a while to arrive. The 3 in the first image are open tapes while the other 12 are/were NIB. Christmas Party was sealed, but there was a big opening in the wrapping, so I opened it up.

This is now quite literally the crowning jewel of my sealed VHS collection so far. A sealed Time-Life copy of James Goes Buzz Buzz on VHS. Stupidly rare and never comes up, but now I own EVERY sealed variant of the tape. This is my third sealed Time-Life tape overall so far.

is airing Thomas on a new streaming channel called "PBSRetro" on Roku and Plex. Though they aren't airing as they did on TV with the low quality footage, this is a dream come true. Though, it's not without faults. Watch and check out what we've been up to. ;)

To make myself clear in case you don't understand, the show aired on there multiple times a day, aired for 11 years on there, and outside of Shining Time Station, Thomas & Friends alone didn't get too fair treatment from PBS until 2013. Fox Family and Nick Jr. for another time.

I am still shocked that after getting some sleep, this tweet got as much attention as it did. Sprout almost seems more memorable for a lot of people with Thomas than PBS Kids did. I think I'm now convinced that I should make a video about this. We'll see...

Here's another favorite echo of mine, especially since I've owned this echo tape all my life. Thomas, Percy and the Dragon's echo tape will always be my favorite of the bunch. This one was tedious to fix, swapping audio channels to remove as much static as I could.

I find it kind of strange that Donald and Douglas are never referred to as 'twins' in the CGI series. Only 'brothers'. However, for the PBS airing of "A Time For Sharing" in which Love Me Tender was included, they were only referred to as Twins in the Today on Sodor segment.

The timing of Angelis' narration on the series 7 episodes during series 8 and 9 airings is placed differently each airing. Sometimes it plays earlier and sometimes it plays later. The timing between lines stays the same.

Today's Mail Time is quite a treat. A sealed "Tool Power" Bob tape as it has some awesome episodes on it, a sealed 2002 Friends Help Out VHS giving me every variant, and another sealed Christmas Wonderland Double-Train VHS. I am very happy with all this.

Unfortunately due to my DVR auto-deleting almost all the PBS content I had left, here are the four airings I was able to salvage in HD before cable switching. These are a pain in the ass to fix since the SD files I dubbed to DVD didn't include audio, but I'll make it work.

Why is it sometimes problematic archiving our favorite shows? Either the whole series gets released physically across several releases, or some episodes don't get released at all, or sometimes it's even a territorial issue where not all of certain dubs are released.
