After the White House confirmed 25% tariffs on Canadian goods starting Tuesday, PM @JustinTrudeau announced retaliatory measures: "Tonight, I am announcing Canada will respond to U.S. trade actions with 25% tariffs on $155 billion in American goods," Trudeau stated in a national address. Immediate tariffs on $30 billion in goods will kick in Tuesday, with further $125 billion in tariffs 21 days later for supply chain adjustments. This follows Trump's threats against Canada and Mexico over fentanyl and migration issues. Trudeau has been in talks with Canada's premiers to strengthen border security.
