'The Vital Pump' The Diaphragm or Heart? BradCliff would say the diaphragm. When we ‘breathe well’, the diaphragm pumps up & down - approximately 15,000 breaths every 24 hours at rest. The heart moves with it facilitating blood flow & pressure, and regulating the nervous system.
