Appreciate you highlighting Maurice today, Brian. He was a good guy that we at Learfield are going to miss a lot.
It’s with extremely heavy hearts that we dedicate today’s broadcast to a beloved member of our @Learfield Jayhawk Sports Network broadcast team, Maurice Jones, who tragically passed away suddenly on Thursday at the age of 42. Maurice was a tremendously valued member of our crew serving as our studio producer for Jayhawk Men’s Basketball & Football, as well as all of our Hawk Talk broadcasts. He had a special energy about him and an infectious personality that always shined, lifting all of our crew each and every gameday. Maurice also loved his Jayhawks. Though he lived and worked in Jefferson City, MO, (in the heart of Tiger Country), Maurice always proudly wore his Crimson & Blue gear and would boisterously celebrate every KU win on his social feeds. The way he embraced Kansas Athletics after joining our crew is a great example of how he lived his life. He was ALL IN. When Maurice cared about something - whether it was his Learfield career or his musical talents - he was so dedicated and passionate. There’s nothing he loved more than his two 10-year-old twin daughters though. They were truly his pride & joy. We hope they know how much we loved and respected their Daddy. Maurice, today’s call is for you. We’ll always cherish our special friendship with you. Love you forever, brother. 💙❤️
