Today, December 16th, marks the 25th anniversary of my 1011 debut.
Thank you so much welcoming me into your homes for the last 25 years. Nebraska is the best.
It occurred to me this morning that today marks 20 years since I started doing the Morning and Noon Shows here at 1011. It’s been a great 20 years and I want to thank all of you for waking up with me over the last 20 years.
It was a tough morning for me.
@ShelbyFenster
is moving back home to her hometown of St.Louis. She has been a wonderful friend over the last five years. Words cannot express how much I will miss her. It is not goodbye, instead ...see ya later.
Our youngest is staring high school today. It seems like it was only yesterday he started kindergarten. His big brother will be close by as a teacher at LNE.
Pass the tissues please.
The National Weather Service has concluded that 26 tornadoes touch down in Nebraska on December 15th. Prior to that, there had only been 5 December tornadoes in Nebraska since 1950.
Although I have been at 1011 for almost 28 years, this week marks the 25th anniversary of me working the 1011 Morning Show. Thanks for waking up with me for 25 years.
Lincoln Sky View showing a temperature inversion. Notice the steam rising and then flattening out. There is a layer of warmer air over the very cold air near the ground. This warm air above the cold air acts like a lid and spreading the smoke out instead of up.
Major damage near Winterset,Iowa. I was taught that when a house is completely blown off it's foundation, you got an EF5. Certainly an EF4. Surveryors from the NWS will confirm in the coming days. Very Sad. Picture from

Almost the entire state of Texas is under a Winter Storm Warning. I don’t think I have ever seen this before. My parents, who are snow birds in far south Texas are under a Winter Storm Watch. Amazing.
I have worked with
@ShelbyFenster
for 4 years now. In the 20 years doing the 1011 Morning show, I have now worked with her the longest. It has been a great 4 years.
Congratulations to the Lincoln Northeast Rocket Marching Band. They got a 1 or superior rating at the NSBA Marching contest on Saturday. They had a great season. Proud of my son Alex. Lots of hard work and dedication from all the kids.
Merry Christmas all. Woke up to my cat staring me in the face. Before I could say anything, he sneezed in my face. Just another day of living with a cat.
We are watching a system that could bring snow to Nebraska Saturday night into Sunday. As usual, it is early and lot of things could change between now and Saturday. I just wanted to get the word out that snow is possible across the state this weekend.
