Meath County Council is delighted to announce the official opening of the Boyne Valley to Lakelands Greenway. Ireland’s newest Greenway provides a 30km car-free pathway starting at Blackwater Park in Navan and travelling along the former Midland Great Western Railway, steeped in natural, built, and cultural heritage, finishing at Dun na Rí Forest Park, Kingscourt. Cllr. Tommy Reilly, Cathaoirleach of Meath County Council, Jack Chambers T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Transport and the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications, and Heather Humphreys T.D., Minister for Rural and Community Development, carried out the official opening in the presence of Meath County Council Elected members, Oireachtas members, and invited guests on Sunday 12th May. This project was funded by the Department of Transport, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, the Department of Rural and Community Development, Meath County Council, and Cavan County Council.
