Based on what? His resume? Are you aware that Usyk had barely any defeats in the amateurs and 0 in the pros? Are you aware of the caliber of fighters that heā€™s faced? People need to stop hyping up these past fighters to the point that they are invincible. The game keeps evolving. So many of those past fighters had obvious offensive and defensive flaws.

šŸ˜šŸ˜ so fkn stupid. If you knew anything about boxing, youā€™d be able to recognise just the skill level alone of Usyk. On top of that, he hasnā€™t lost a fight as a pro and has conquered two of the hardest divisions. Are you even aware of the size difference between current and past HWs?

@Nurimmw Kendrick already performed the stuff that gave him the biggest impact as an individual when he joined Dre and snoop. There was no need to get him to headline a few years later with his lesser known material.

@Nurimmw Different time.. rap was kinda at the forefront of music and it was a very politically volatile period of time. Those guys also made songs that everyone knows, whether they are fans of rap or not. More so the Tupac, Biggie etc. era. Everyone was dancing to that shit šŸ˜

@iknowWhiteGold You can encourage people to give an album another listen, but you shouldnā€™t have to go back and watch a live performance to see whether it was entertaining lol

Yeahā€¦ great. Thatā€™s still not enough for a Super Bowl half time show lol. There are plenty of artists with 200 mil streams. That shit is free and donā€™t mean nothing. I was in high school when his early albums came out, but it is still not widely accessible music outside of the US. No amount of your feelings getting involved will change that either. Itā€™s not because Kendrick isnā€™t capable, itā€™s because he doesnā€™t write with the sole purpose of creating popular, accessible music.

@hdnjem @zsmith135 @DaBoyDame Yeah itā€™s legitimately not a great medium for live entertainment. It works in recordings where all levels are measured and it sits in the mix perfectly. Itā€™s not a very good live art form.

Yes.. I said it and then he quoted me on it and thatā€™s what started the whole thing. The point stands regardless of your feelings about Kendrick, man. I didnā€™t say heā€™s not critically acclaimed or commercially successful? But what he has achieved is not enough to give him the Super Bowl gig. Itā€™s a gig that works for artists that have dominated the pop charts and have 20+ number 1 hits to draw from. Some niche hip hop artist who has had a few hit songs doesnā€™t fit that category. Hence the backlash to his performance and the reason itā€™s a trending argument rn. If your music canā€™t transcend genres, cultural and age differences, it shouldnā€™t be broadcast on one of the biggest stages that your nation offers šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø as Iā€™ve said, people outside the US dgaf about that game, they just stream the halftime show cos a lot goes into it.

No he didnā€™t. Most of it comes back to the ā€œDominated the chartsā€ line. You can spin it whichever way you want, he hasnā€™t done that. He is a great artist and heā€™s made some great music. You donā€™t get every title just because you are famous, dummy. The recency bias is crazy with this shit šŸ˜ his one song starts trending about an artist thatā€™s more famous than him and now everyone blowing his shit outta proportion.

Yeah look up any famous artist and youā€™ll find multiple records broken cos they got a fkn category for everything these days. Hot Rap Songs Chart is fkn hilarious btw for your evidence šŸ˜ I mean, Iā€™m not even some big drake fan but look at the difference you moron šŸ‘‡šŸ¼. And people even question whether Drake would be great for the Super Bowl. Music is very accessible nowadays and artists can seem like they are creating some huge buzz based on a big enough community streaming their shit on repeat. Kendrickā€™s had a few songs on Good Kid Maad city that are somewhat timeless. The rest are pretty forgettable if you arenā€™t a die hard fan of his. Iā€™m glad you and your circle keep his name active though..
