Glad to see this published in the @GreenEUJournal. I argue the unity of the European far right is shallow. It conceals deeper national and international cleavages among competing elites with competing economic needs and policies.
WEEKEND READ | At first glance, far-right parties in Europe seem to present a united front – unlike the famously fragmented Left. However, a closer inspection reveals their different and sometimes competing programmes and economic agendas.

Spot on. In 10 years of academia, I've very rarely come across actual Marxists (who displayed a Marxist perspective on things) and even less across Marxist academics (who apply that perspective to their actual research or teaching). The Western academic left is basically liberal.
