There were a few short runs of bipedal SPGs before it was decided to return to more traditional vehicles.
The remaining units were up-armored and used as ad hoc assault guns with mixed results. You can still find a few attached to Machine Cavalry troops.

Whenever I draw a mech/vehicle picture i usually go through a few super rough sketches before I get a silhouette that I like. Though while working on this guy I did do a few changes. This is what the initial rough looked like.

Yeah I can agree with that. Its a nice visual simplification of an 'Ideal' but its still a simplification of the subject.
