@TheRealNeoThe
can't wait for dexerto to showcase a 14 year old streamer who's 'taking over the internet' and goes by the username of "Pobble Cobble" or some shit like that
@jemibuni
The problem with YouTube Kids channels is that they don't really help out on the education criteria. They just overelaborate on the same boring topics like colors and nursery rhymes that it's merely impossible for those kids to learn anything new from it. It's also untrustworthy.
Notice how the rise of indie animation and webtoons can really shape its industry regardless of major studio support. I mean just look at how far independent creators can go on their own without relying on the thoughts and decisions of companies like Warner Bros or Disney or Nick

i thought it was meg who was the realest one.
back then everyone treated her like shit until she started speaking up for herself and providing wisdom and kindness. now her whole family including peter respects her and im happy about that tbh
@trevorthesheep
trevor use your holy editing powers to make it look like that MrBeast and the gang are running away from the giant word "accountability"
@classicyeeter
Sega had the opportunity to stop giving the blasted hedgehog a second of attention and make the best video game i would totally 100% all steam achievements on and turned it down?
@m_acrylic
that actually sounds like a really cursed thing to do. it's like damaging 500-year old art but with the purpose of turning it into the same aesthetic as a graded pokemon card
@DewEnjoyer
Getting angry and yelling at things is just the same feeling we all eventually have in life. These two have nothing in common because they are both screaming for a different reason from each other. It can’t be on the same coin.
First it started with stuff like Homestar Runner and Battle For Dream Island. The latter of which were made by Stanford University grads who even made several software programs designed to educate those within the advanced STEM field before BFDI was released.
@nescartridges
I call Skibidi Toilet the “Sonichu” of gen alpha because it tries to make an original character out of two popular and existing franchises, just like how sonichu is mixed with the elements of Sonic and Pikachu. Though the Skibidi toilet assets were from one franchise, Gmod.
@iDuckFilms
Still it’s amazing how far an indie project has really come despite its flaws and boundaries. Probably a first for many like the digital circus or lackadaisy
@AndrewTateKLTV
I genuinely feel bad for this guy. Because not only is he being confused with the Andrew Tate we all know and hate, but he serves as a weatherman for a part in Texas that is going to suffer heavy flooding that will impact millions. Poor lad.
@DavidToons_
I thought sssniperwolf was like a gaming youtuber man. I mean she has the word “sniper” in her name and the name tag of a COD player how the hell did she switch to g-rated reaction videos
@Skatunenetwork
Keep in mind that the frontman co-created Yo Gabba Gabba, which is literally a TV show that expresses the art of music and imagination and creativity and stuff
This was later followed by a couple of Newgrounds veterans and YouTubers wanting to have their own shot at making their dream come true with their little creation. And Smiling Friends became one of the first webtoon concepts to be picked up by a major network, Adult Swim in 2022.
@TommyTallarico
@CBR
Imagine taking control of one useless video game sound legally used by Roblox that revolutionized an entire generation of players for years to come and instantly destroying it.
With the success of Hazbin Hotel, many others wanted to jump on the bandwagon and help defy an era of animation, but this time strictly limited to free online viewing purposes. This included Lackadaisy, Ollie & Scoops, SrPelo's Spooky Month, and even Vivziepop's own Helluva Boss.
This is a very controversial opinion. I mean The New Norm isn't a really good show, yet still gets an entire fandom full of fans whom the show mocks for some reason. I highly advise you to skip this one.
Altho there is a certain somebody who will edge to the show more than usual.
@nescartridges
Unrelated but for some reason I always see this wojak dude as Josh from The Eltingville Club. Which probably makes him one of my favorites as well.
Then an unexpected game-changer happened with quite the unconventional event as animator Kaaatie released an AMV of a Baldi's Basics fan song with her own original characters. This garnered a SHIT TON of attention and grew an entire fandom nicknamed "Fundamental Paper Education".
Many within the fandom still classify 'FPE' to be "indie animation" despite never intentionally being one in the first place. No pilot or episode-based series, but just a simple 4-minute video. But boy, would it sure kill to get an entire fandom made out of your OCs within days?
But their biggest creation defied the era of indie animation with The Amazing Digital Circus which dominated the industry. Gooseworx had the perfect formula for a show that balances silliness and surrealism & got the help of an ex-Blue Sky Studios employee to make it come to life
Then the ball rolls faster when Hazbin Hotel gets released in 2019. Changing the ideal term of “webtoon” as it was one of the first internet toons to get picked up by a streaming service (Amazon Prime) and distributed by none other than the biggest indie media studio, A24
And yes, even The New Norm gets to be classified as an indie animation series cuz not only it's the first ever animated show to watch for free on Twitter, but yet proves itself to be naturally made by publicly showcasing BTS footage such as storyboards & sketches on their account
Many were ambitious to become a part of that same change TADC attributed to indie animation. Including more Newgrounds vets, game devs, and even reviewers. As newer shows have sprung up like Fanny And The Pack, Dungeon Flippers, Punch Punch Forever, and RebelTaxi's own Loki IRL.
A lot has changed since that. Pingas has replaced the dinner, spaghetti has bombs on them, the mama luigi war is over, and Jimmy Carter is still alive.
@MaximumADHD
This is the tweet we all need to hear. Nobody cares if anybody is a part of a random minority/internet group some people may dislike. Furries, gamers, whatever. It only matters if we do our best to keep the internet safe and prevent others from producing harm onto children.
In 2020, popular Super Mario 64 GMod YouTuber and my childhood icon SMG4 forms Glitch Productions. They eventually became one of the first YouTuber-run production studios to distribute shows from other animators like Liam Vickers and his show Murder Drones, which was a hit
The creator of Infinity Train whose show was removed by HBOMax and can now be pirated has to resort to posting frogs in hats on Twitter. Streaming life couldn't get any more worse than this.
#InfinityTrain
@nescartridges
This alone feels like an insult to Channel Awesome itself since they’d probably make something more entertaining and visually stunning than this
A lot has changed since that. Velcroe has replaced the zipper, sneakers have lights on them, the commentary youtuber war is over (i think)
and Dale Jr. is still retired
A lot has changed since that. SML has replaced a majority of the SMG4 fandom, Tesla has cringe on their cars, the war on drugs is still not over, and my live-action indie puppet webseries is still a failure.
(ig people wanted more reviews and video essays from me)
But despite certain risks of predatory folks within the community, content farms squeezing other's independent works dry for profit, and the fear of AI, it can be uncertain for what the future holds for many indie animations to come. But we could only hope for a better tomorrow🌄
