@Cousin_joeyy @BTGiants He was worth more then, and the giants still didn’t get to the money the eagles offered a year later when he was coming off a worse season with an injury. Barkley tried to reach a middle ground woulda accepted 24.5 gtd to stay, giants wouldn’t budge.

@thejintsman @Ophnell_II @chuckknoxx He overpaid a guard we would be fine without and spent money on Singletary instead of Barkley. Not to mention the jones tag mess. Failed twice. He couldn’t see the forest from the trees and let an elite player walk over 1.5 million dollars guaranteed. I’m not the one lost here.

@HorhayBlanco He got offered a below market value deal because the GM had the tag. Then when they tagged him lowered the guaranteed offer even further. When they finally learned his market value, didn’t even bother to match and said peace you’re not worth Gabe Davis money here.

They could afford him, it’s Gabe Davis money. Our GM just pretended 12M dollars would somehow handicap his ability to build a team. That’s just being a bad GM

@thejintsman @Ophnell_II @chuckknoxx Yes, he tried to come to a middle ground with them per reports and lower his ask to 24.5 million gtd. Giants declined to up their offer while he compromised and then tagged him, and lowered the offer to around 17-19 gtd. They didn’t want a deal.

@thejintsman @Ophnell_II @chuckknoxx You didn’t say facts and it’s not a false narrative, he had the tag and had no intention to compromise on a deal that would make Barkley happy. It’s why after they tagged him he massively dropped the guarantees he offered. He wanted him on the tag.
