This last question was the trickiest in our poll and one of the toughest ones in our study. Most people with an abnormal scan will NOT have lung cancer. This is very important for patients to understand when making a decision about screening.

Health professional groups do NOT recommend that ALL current and former smokers be screened for lung cancer. There are age and smoking requirements, plus other things to consider. Find @CMSGov guidance here:
