Let's hear about some quirky Toronto! I'll start with the cannon at Fort York pointed at the Gardiner, whose path at one time would have trampled the site. (Pic is from a visit checking out some VR stuff...yeesh, 10 years ago?!)

The Goderich Canadian Pacific Railway Station opened in 1907 as part of the Guelph-Goderich Railway. It last served passengers in 1955 and freight in 1988.

I'm putting the finishing touches on 2 new works that should be out later this week. I'm trying something new as they will be released at the same time on the same topic - one in more-detailed written form (my 1st love) and the other in bite-sized reel form (my newest pursuit)!

My article "Historic Clamour" in last year's "Noise" issue of @Spacing was nominated for a Heritage Toronto award! Many thanks to Dylan and Matt from Spacing for an opportunity to showcase my work and Heritage Toronto for having me as a nominee! https://t.co/MSAm9rFLDp

The Hotel Bedford in Goderich opened in 1896 by John Bedford and A.C. Pace. Two interesting notes: Walt Disney, whose ancestors were from Huron County, stayed there. It was managed by hotelier Jonathan Millar and said to be the heaviest man in Goderich & Canada at 465 lbs.

I recently toured through SW Ontario & will be sharing a few sites. The Starlite Drive-In Theatre in Shipka (Grand Bend) was opened in 1955 by Emerson Desjardines. The first movie was Calamity Jane Opened during the heyday of drive-ins, it's the last of its kind in Huron County

Leader Lane was Toronto's first recorded one-way street, leading off an interesting history of the city's uniquely directed roads.

Hey Toronto Twitterverse, have there been pushes (major and minor) since the 1990s to make Yonge Street (and other surrounding north-south streets) one-way? I'm looking for anything since the 1988 plan. Thanks!

Requesting a bit of research help: Can my Directories aficionados confirm that "bds - boards" means that the resident is a boarder at the address?

This amazing rooftop picture of The Ward from Bay Street around 1910 came up in my old saved images. I wrote about it and another view from University Avenue a few years ago. If I could go back I'd redo the graphics, but I thought it was a fun idea! https://t.co/h4MHj7WSh3
