I wish more game studios realized that asset fidelity, where most of development budget goes today, is way less important than framing, lighting & atmosphere. Lo-fi assets + hi-fi cinematography is going to be a key style in the coming years.

Baking is more for cinematics - where you might want to get cameras out of UE and into a DCC for further animation work or because of pipeline reasons. It's also useful to lock down our procedural cameras so they're consistent if rendering in layers. Gameplay camera features are coming! We have so much cool stuff on our roadmap. That said the existing Black Eye system has very powerful gameplay applications, depending on the genre.

I spent a bunch of my vacation having fun with @UnrealEngine and @Black_Eye_Tech Camera. While there are for sure places Unreal's VFX tools could use improvement, I feel like I (or probably someone more talented than me) could make a series or film with it. Here's what I'd make:
