BJJ BEGINNER π COMPETITION PREP ADVICE A contrarian approach is to CHANGE NOTHING. Train as usual. Eat as usual. I tell my white belts that they're training to win Black Belt tournaments, not white belt ones. The point is to take the psychological weight off the results of the tournament. The concept that PERFECT PREPARATION is needed to perform well can create a stress of its own. Right now, LONG-TERM SKILL DEVELOPMENT is your priority. All the best to you with your competition and your long-term skill development! π

@Delisketo Such a great fight. Fedor was so well rounded. Able to clinch and grapple to recover from the big right hand. Fujita had a head like a giant bucket of cement. So hard to hurt him there. Fedor's left kick to the body set up the finish for him.

@BowTiedPeater As your skills develop, you will get fewer bumps and bruises. You will learn to move more efficiently and elegantly. You might be over-trying and over-gripping right now. Train as much as you think your body can tolerate. All the best to you with your skill development! π
