Notice @saylor says “follow”, not “buy”. I suggest the reason for it is he wants people to notice they are trading at nearly a 10x multiple of their #Bitcoin holdings. This happens especially because Japan taxes spot #BTC gains at 55% and equities such as Metaplanet at 20% and only Metaplanet currently holds BTC as a public company in #Japan. Japan is thinking of decreasing the tax on spot #Bitcoin gains to 20% as well and as soon as this happens and other companies follow the same strategy in Japan I cannot see this multiple holding.. just my opinion #mstr

@btc_overflow Ok, this is the 5% tax @saylor responded to at the very end of the Q4 earnings call.. yep I have plenty of confidence this will be sorted and #mstr won’t have to pay any of this unfair tax.

@btc_overflow Tax liabilities on unrealised gains? Why would they have to do that? They wouldn’t be selling their #bitcoin to have to pay any tax.. it’s not taxable

@Fly_Over_Guy @MackHODLs @cgm5432112345 Yes we understand that. The consequence is that he chose not to show the #mstr #bitcoin profit for 2024 in 2024. And it will NOT be shown in 2025 in the P&L. Instead it will go to retained earnings which is where the p&l results move at the end of each year.
