@randomcricfacts Yes ! Other two captains outwitted/outclassed him throughout the tournament. I just love the NZ team in this era. Tactically they were just brilliant throughout the tourney. I remember how they trapped Damien Martyn on the offside by making him driving uppishly.

This cabal will only grow as cricket will move forward. On both sides. Eclipsing everything else. They've job tag & big follower number with them; these posts are easy to catch more eyeballs & they get more out of it cuz people feel more tempted to reply. Formula is simple & easy

@hbdeshmukh It's that half jab half pull he plays. He was playing it quite squarer and very consistently against pace on balls bowled from over the wicket.

@tweetappan Landing the bat closer to the front foot at the stance is quite popular now. Livingstone has been doing this. We saw Beau Webster doing this in the last BGT.

@ansh19485 In the latest one he holds his bat diagonal WRT his body. I think he wants the bat to come around against the short ball quicker than putting effort on downswing later to make it come around. The frantic shaking I guess is to keep him mentally switched on for the short ball.

@footitalia1 This is the moment memories of 1982 shook hands with Italian football of 2006. I think Grosso must've watched Tardelli's goal celebration in '82 WC final a lot and it just came out naturally from him when he scored against Germany in 2006 WC. Pirlo's pass was absolute perfection.

@avishek_g He was one of the first. Dermot Reeve also was an ODI specialist. Technical flaws are found in many successful test batters. The thing is how mentally tough you are to combat that. Steve Waugh also had problems against short balls. But he removed hook and pull from his game.

Only if we had visionaries back in 1950, instead of a stupid bunch who wanted to see everything through state politics and wanted to centralize power within one state, probably we wouldn't have needed this now. One thing you 've to give it to BCCI - there've been visionaries.

It's been a year since this phenomenal ball was bowled.
[THREAD] This is one of the best yorkers bowled in test cricket in recent times. This is Bumrah's ripping yorker that boomeranged in and knocked Ollie Pope out in the Vizag test. A thread on how Ollie Pope couldn't cope with it. πΈ: Philip Brown 1/

@DevalGawande White ball cricket suits his style the most. Needs polishing to be a test player.
