good visuals are worth absolutely nothing with shitty sound design.

I got my first client by responding to a post for a video editor while it wasn't my goal to become one.
Now:
-I'm working for YouTubers with over 8mil subscribers.
-Improving my skills.
What's the reason that you haven't started yet?
How did you find your first client?
Iman Ghadzi editor after he puts his soul and heart into a video and sees some kid with saying the original was bad and he made it better (he made it worse):
Thanks for the huge support.
Twitter keeps telling me I'm spamming so I can't keep sending this.

Your client isn't Mr. Beast.
Don't Expect them to pay you millions of dollars for every project.
You need to have a two way relationship with your clients.
Help them out, and negotiate with them on the price.
Are you doing this?
I'm gonna tell you something you don't want to hear.
-Going to the gym
-taking cold showers
-having weird morning routines
WON'T make you succeed.
It'll just improve your physical/mental health.
Are you doing these?
Don't keep your client in the dark.
Keep giving updates on the video and let them know what's going on. If you don't do this, you may lose your client.
Are you doing this?
You never get bored as a Video Editor.
If you don't have a video from a client, you can:
-Make that idea you had for so long but never had the chance.
-Grow your brand.
-Cold email.
-Focus on getting more clients.
Are you doing these, or you're bored?
Stop writing an essay in your portfolio.

I want to upgrade my PC and I need your opinions on whether I should buy an Intel Core I5 12400F or Intel Core I5 14600FK or Intel Core I9 14900FK
What do you think?
It's not all about visuals.
I saw
@jxmyhighroller
's video and tried giving it my own twist. I want to show you how good sound design and storytelling can solely boost the video.
I Tried documentary video for the first time.
Feedback is appreciated.
When I was a small editor, I got my first clients by outreaching small content creators.
Now:
-I'm working with some of the biggest creators.
Even if you're a big editor you always should do this.
It's NOT embarrassing or petty to outreach.
What do you think?
Have you tried it?
Editing highlights for the recent
@realgoutros
video I did.
Tell me what you think.
You have a gaming video that want to be edited by me? Shoot me a DM📩.
1. Sound design is divided into three categories.
The first one is the environment.
When you move your hands, throw something, move, walk, do absolutely nothing, there are sounds
The camera can't record these sounds so it's on you to add them.
Here is an example:
Now that you know this it's time to give you the tips.
1. Don't overuse the same sound effect.
Instead, change the speed or add filters(Pitch Shifter, Reverb, etc.) to make a new sound or to change its length.
3. Try making something yourself.
If the video is about Mr. Beast, try to put Mr. Beast in the background.
If it's a video on classes of a game like Valorant put those classes in the background, like how Rey did here.
3. And the last one is Cinematic.
These are the riser and boom cinematic sound effects which get added to build suspense and add depth to the video
Example:
"All your friends are losers"
You're the alpha male who takes cold showers, goes to the gym, etc. right?
No. If you keep thinking this way, you just lose your friends and become lonely with no social life.
Are you that alpha male?
1. Understand what's the subject of the video.
By understanding the subject of the video you're editing you can make a background yourself based on that.
Here we can see how Celi, uses the environment of the game as the background.

One piece of advice I have for all editors.
Improve your sound designing skills!
I've seen a lot of videos from different editors with great visuals and shitty sound design.
You have no idea how good sound design can affect a video.
I saw one of
@PrinceZamLIVE
's videos and liked it.
So, I thought I could try it with my style and add my own twist to it.
Follow,❤️Like,🗨️Comment "Rock" and ♻️ retweet so I can send you the project file.
I'd love to know what you think.
"Always on the grind🔥"
If you:
-sleep less than 8 hours
-don't have a social life
-stare at the monitor screen all day
You're just burning yourself out.
Are you doing this?
3. Have a work flow in your sound design.
Like I add the sound effect in the environment, then I add whooshes, then cinematic, etc. If you focus on one thing at a time, it'll help you make it better.
When I was 12; like all the other kids, I wanted to become a youtuber. The first thing I did was opening up Youtube to learn how to edit videos.
What I'm doing now?
- Working with famous youtubers
- Making money
- Growing my brand
How did you start?
Why haven't you started yet?
2. You can find other backgrounds.
For example, if you're editing a Minecraft video you can use a Minecraft wood background or something similar. Like how I did here.
I saw one of
@PrinceZamLIVE
's videos and I thought could try it with my style and add my own twist to it. (This time with sound design)
I'd love to know what you think.
Stop arguing.
When a client pays you, they want you to do something. They don't care what you think.
Don't say "I think it'd be better this way" or "I don't feel like doing it". Do what you're told.
If you do this you'll lose your clients.
Have you done this?
You're wasting time in After Effects!
After Effects is good but it's tough to work with
Here is how to fix that:
-Do all the hard work in AfterEffects
-Open Premiere
-Go to File>Adobe Dynamic Link>Import After Effects composition
-Do things like Sound design, etc
Did you do this?
"I worry what others think of me."
People on this platform are people who you'll never meet in real life and will never impact your life in any way.
Do you care what others think?
I Hope this helped.

It's not all about visuals.
I'm seeing editors who just focus on the visuals and say fuck everything else.
Focus on:
Sound Design
Story Telling
etc
First.
Then focus on fancy visuals.
What do yo think is more important?
When I got my first paycheck I immediately told my parents
They saw it as a hobby and said I should focus on school
If I listened to them I'd:
-Have a shitty 9 to 5 job with minimum wage
Now I:
-Work whenever wherever
-Don't know the answer to 2+3

I'm not a 3D artist but this is fantastic. What I can say can be improved is the sound design. Everything else it just amazing. Great job.
You haven't unlocked your full potential.
Here is how to do it:
-Think of something you regularly can't do.
-Try everything you can to do it (Watch tutorials, learn new effects, use After Effects, etc.)
Have you unlocked your full potential yet?
Do you use After Effects?
If you're a video editor, you need to have these Discord servers.
In the last thread, I said there are Discord servers for video editors that will help you a lot. So, I'm here to tell you about those servers.
Want motivation to start?
JUST START.
I know, it's like saying the safest way to ski is not to ski.
But it's that simple. When the client sends me the files, I want to die. But when I really start, I edit for 3 hours straight.
What's your excuse not to start?
Are you ready for the super secret bonus tip?
Organize and name all your sound effect,s then use Listary to access them quickly. (You can use this for all your assets)
Use Premiere Composer to just add the filters before importing it to the timeline.
