It will work. I have block walked for multiple campaigns across the district because there are no precinct chairs. Now people at the door know me and their turnout is higher. They also ask if there are other democrats in their neighborhood because they feel alone. 😂

There is a lot of work done to register people to vote but not enough to close the gap between registered and voting. That is mostly left up to the candidates. If you have underfunded or bivocational candidates then it does not happen. Talking from experience here.
