Today was one of those truly amazing days that don't come alone to often. We took delivery of our @illumina #NovaSeqX plus. We look forward to bringing faster, better, cheaper sequencing to all our collaborators/clients from around the world, serving scientists in @AgriLife @TAMU @tamusystem, and supporting other critical research in 45 countries for scientist across the land. And in the immortal words of George Strait, ‘Xs live in TEXAS.’ 🤠🎶 @AgriLife @TAMU

Local deer 🦌 population made it through hunting season safe and sound. All but one of the summer bucks have showed back up.

My take home message from this is that almost ALL talks are way to long, and based on my experience 15 min. talks are far far superior to 60 min talks. 60 min talks tend to have 10-15 mins of important information and the rest is filler to fit an arbitrary scheduled.
How to make a presentation? Don't save the best for last! The way to begin it is to describe your main question and a summary of your big idea right from the start. Everyone is listening at those first few minutes but they'll only continue to listen if you grab their attention.
