Interesting. Ryan Anderson has been nothing but a class act during his time in Houston. He even spoke openly and honestly about being overpaid. Agreeing to put ~$5M at risk in order to facilitate a trade for the Rockets is just one last example of this.
To clear the way for a trade out of Houston, Ryan Anderson agreed to reduce the guarantee on his $21M salary in 2019-20 to $15.6M, league sources told ESPN. For the Suns, the $15.6M represents Brandon Knight’s salary for the 2019-20 season.

Meanwhile, Chris Paul waived most of his trade bonus in 2017 to facilitate the Rockets’ trade for him. He gave up $11M+ in 2017-18 by opting in & waiving this bonus.
