Enforced Disappearances (ED) & Extra-Judicial Killings (EJK): My first question in Parliament in 2003 was in relation to an abduction of a Mr M Suroor by NIS in Mombasa, tortured & dumped in Nairobi days later. Kibaki Govt insisted ‘there was no evidence to prove kidnapping or torture as alleged.’ It soon became rampant & evolved to renditions. Amnesty International confirmed by 2006, over 140 people were abducted by Kenyan police & renditioned to Ethiopia. In his 2nd term, many more people were subject to ED & EJK. The worst was in 2010 when several Kenyans were abducted by police in Mombasa & Nairobi and renditioned to Uganda, despite COURT rulings. In it's first 2 yrs of Uhuru administration, 21 Muslim clerics were victims of EJK in Mombasa/Kwale alone. The number would soon swell with thousands of victims over his tenure as it became the modus operandi. Hundreds of bodies would be found in various parts of the country in Nairobi, Central, North-eastern, Coast, Nyanza etc. In 2015, when several bodies of ED victims were found in shallow graves in Mandera, I was arrested & held by DCI for days for being an ‘alarmist’. In post-2017 elections, ED/EJK was used to silence Kenyans, claiming dozens of lives. His 2nd term was the worst, when even MPs were abducted to prevent voting on motions! Ruto stated in his UDA manifesto that ED/EJK would end in his first 100 days. He did start by dismantling the group at DCI. But 2 years later, we are back to the old habits. Indeed, old habits die hard. ED/EJK & the rule of law cannot co-exist! It must stop. The buck stops with the President! Otherwise, it’s back to dark days of Kenyatta/Moi/Kibaki/Uhuru. Sadly, to some Kenyans, ED/EJK only matters when it is done to some, and not to others. This is ethnic bigotry!

The Cushitic ethic group like Somalis, Maasai, Borana etc arrived in Kenya 2000BC, followed later by the Nilotes. The Bantu came in 200AD. Check your history books. The Pastoralists are not anybody's guests in Kenya.
Somali-Kenyan MP and wild conspiracy theorist Faarah Maalim has once again made an outrageous claim, asserting that Somalians were the ones who established Nairobi as a business hub and that they were present in Kenya long before other Kenyans migrated from the other parts of Africa. Maalim, a controversial demagogue, recently went even further by urging the Ruto regime to carry out the mass slaughter of Gen Z Kenyan protesters on an industrial scale.
