$NVDA is down 15%. Short term thinking, 1) Deepseek's R1 using fewer GPUs might mean fewer chip sales for Nvidia. Arguably, bad for Nvidia. 2) Deepseek's R1 using "usual" H100/H800 GPUs could mean Nvidia broke US sanctions. Very bad for Nvidia!

This! Gemini 2.0 flash thinking is better, cheaper and has a longer context window (1M!!) than Deepseek R1.

The China is crushing US rhetoric totally forgets about Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking. Likely cheaper, longer context and better on reasoning. We're still early in the AI race.

Remember when I put my "Indiranagar near Lazy Suzy" flat up for rent and got slammed for raising the price due to high demand? I ended up deleting my tweet as I couldn't handle all the negativity. Shoutout to @peakbengaluru for the kind words when I was feeling down! Real gem!

While it has many upsides, a huge downside of taking a fast-paced job in a top tier company is the sheer lack of time during weekdays to get basic life tasks done: finances, home maintenance, various appointments. You try to catch up over weekends, but that further drains energy.

Don't be just a wrapper @kunalb11 posted a tweet (linking below) yesterday asking about interesting AI products being built in India. The thread had nearly 300 to 400 replies, and after reviewing most of them, I could categorize the majority of the apps as CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) built on top of various mediums such as text, image, video, or voice. Building an app with the premise that current OpenAI or LLMs don't perform a specific task, and therefore you will do it, can lead to disaster. It's like judging a growing human being – a 3-year-old child who will become much more knowledgeable by the age of 5. You cannot judge a 3-year-old and conclude that the child is not smart enough. This is how we should treat LLMs. Every time there is an OpenAI update or a new release, many startups become irrelevant because they realize they cannot sustain their business, as the updated OpenAI can now perform the tasks they were doing. Another perspective is that we are attempting to confine an extremely powerful technology like LLMs, which can be compared to a genie capable of doing anything, into a limited space such as mobile apps or websites. It's like bringing in a highly talented individual like Raghuram Rajan to solve simple math problems – while he can do it, it doesn't allow him to reach his full potential, as someone of his calibre should be solving greater world problems. Similarly, when we bring LLMs and try to contain them within websites and apps, we are limiting their potential and not utilizing the medium they are meant to reside in. By building a code editor, video editor, image processor, or any other tool, you will not be outcompeted by a rival building a better website. Instead, you will be surpassed by a company that starts providing humanoid robots or multi-purpose agents. Just as the evolution of smartphones killed many industries, from watches to phone books to cameras, in an unexpected manner, you will not be overthrown by another website or app but by a company that revolutionizes human-computer interaction through voice or other means. It's crucial to consider this carefully before investing time, money, and resources into building LLMs using apps and websites in an old-school way. While I don't mean to discourage building, one should be open to evolving and changing because the container under which you're trying to put the content is going to change. If you focus too much on the container, you will be overthrown by something else, as the game has completely changed. We live in an era where it's easy to build but difficult to figure out what to build.

Atlee's movies are what the LLM generated movies would look like. A calculated blend of all commercial elements to trick you into thinking it's a good movie 😭😭
