Last week was OK, I guess 😉 Bexhill Indoor A, started their season in style against @idencricketclub, posting a competitive score of 108-2, just before a superb bowling display saw them defend the total, winning by a huge 34 runs 💪 Elsewhere, Bexhill Indoor B team, took stage for the first time to help our juniors develop their skills over the winter. Not only did they compete with a tough opposition in @rbridgecc but they ended up coming away victors with 3 balls to spare 🏏 Hot off their victory against Iden, captain, leader, legend - Felix Holland and his side took on @CrowhurstParkCC Indoor B, after a strong bowling effort restricting the opposition to just 99, Bexhill's batsmen cruised to victory for the loss of a singular wicket. #indoorcricket #winners #bexhillbandits #bexhillcricketclub

A damp scene marked the final league game of the season, with the covers well used in the run-up to the clash between Bexhill 1st XI and East Grinstead. The visitors won the toss and took the bold approach to bat first, perhaps in an effort to control the game when lots of potential rain was about in the skies of Sussex. However, from start to finish it was Bexhill who called the shots. Van Noort and Wicks opened the bowling, with Van Noort striking early to remove one of the Grinstead openers. All eyes were on Wicks ahead of the clash with him on 499 league wickets for Bexhill, and he was quickly able to add his 500th removing the other Grinstead opener. He takes his place as an all-time club great, but as with all true champions, he wasn’t satisfied with 1 wicket, and ended with a fine 4-17 off his 9 overs. A fine servant to the club and at just 37, perhaps another 500 wickets to come. Ahmadzai and Malone equally bowled impressive spells, with Grinstead losing regular wickets throughout thanks to consistent bowling and a good fielding performance to end the season. 91 all out and Bexhill eating the tea thinking what a fantastic toss to lose. In the end, only 1 batsman out of the 22 in attendance showed the ability to bat on a tricky surface, and luckily that was crowd favourite L Youngs who, as ever, calmly set about chasing the total, ending the season on 58 not out. The rest of the Bexhill batting order failed to compliment his fine stroke play, with numbers 2-6 all failing to make double figures. Fittingly, Wicks was able to usher in a big win ending the season 8 not out and a fine 4th place in a competitive division.
