After some bureaucratic procedure, I had my corrections approved today on the thesis. Seems appropriate to discuss the core elements of my thesis: ‘Conceptualising Ideological Transition: Centre-Right Neoliberalisation in the UK and post-war West Germany’

The hubris of tweeting about a fairly 'quick and straightforward' process with a journal only to be stuck waiting 7+ weeks for proofs (was initially given a 3 week estimate). n.b. The editor has been in touch.

I'm really pleased that my first article should be coming out fairly soon (accepted and off for proofs a fortnight ago). I thought I'd share the timeline of the article. Even though the reviews process was reasonably quick & straightforward, the article has been on a longer road.

@lionel_trolling @stcolumbia in his articulation of the movement. That there isn't such an adoption of institutional form may be related to how paramilitarism has been alongside and enmeshed in the movement but in a different way than what might be considered a traditional fascism.

Boots used former cotton mills as business premises and relied on financing from local shareholders and banks to grow. This infrastructure and capital was derived from the slave trade and enslaved industries. As such, Boots itself is entwined to the slave economy.
