Great detailed look into Norwegian pneumococcal population dynamics over 40 years. Some eradication, notable capsular switching, and evidence against penicillin non susceptibility driving the switches. Really nice figures too! Congrats @Becctococcus and team.
What's cool about this is the fact that Norway has been sequencing all IPD routinely since 2018! Coupled with >20 years of pre-PCV data we can really see the fantastic impact of vaccination, and the role of those pesky NVTs aready in Norway just waiting in the sidelines
