The 'free taxi from the airport' offer from https://t.co/5RsM3kdJ6k is a scam. It's there is green text to draw you in to book, and then after you've booked it, conveniently can't be found. And their customer service are completely unhelpful.

@auspost It's a small amount of money, but multiply it out across however many customers at a busy CBD post office and it adds up pretty quickly. And when cost of living is already biting for so many...

So cranky. Partner posted a letter for me. Post office person was insistent he needed to pay more for a small letter because it was 40g in total. Actual limit is 250g. Measurements were within the limit. @auspost do better. Seriously how hard can it be to know the weight limits?

The ABC says Senator Reynolds’s barrister told the court it was arrogant of a rape survivor to believe she was the most seriously affected person. I am at the stratospheric limit of my gobsmackery. And did he say sanctity instead of sanctuary? Because it deserves a (sic), if so.

Excellent piece by @JennaPrice today. Swimming is a core life skill. Australians think we're a swimming nation but too many of us can't even stay afloat.
smh.com.au
Tragically, almost 300 Australians drown every year and many of us say we can’t swim at all. It’s not good enough.

Hey @australian since when is her occupation the most important part? Apparently, even more important than her name which is only 2nd par. He murdered a woman in Sydney. Her job was irrelevant. Her name was Michaela Dunn and by all accounts she was a much loved person.

New from myself and @DrKyraHamilton in @ConversationEDU we report our findings of an audit of driver handbooks in every Australian state and territory, uncovering just what they teach learner drivers about driving into floodwaters #DrowningPrevention

Understanding what to do when faced with flooding on the road is an important, yet often overlooked aspect of driver education, which could be the difference between life and death.

Emma is generous and kind. She shares beautiful images she creates from nature here regularly to make people feel better. If you can afford to send something her way (£3 is roughly AUD$6) as a small thank you for brightening your day, please do.
If you've saved one of my photos it would be so great if you could bung me the price of a greetings card/bag o' pasta on ko-fi. I haven't been able to work much recently due to a breakdown.I design my photos to lift mood & dial down stress in the viewer🌿 https://t.co/P2flffMsVb

For all those who've said providing rip signage at unpatrolled beaches is stupid because you swim in the water at own risk, etc, please consider this one - of many messages I've had about rescues at Spoon Bay today.

Hanif offers a glimpse into a world seldom seen by those of us who have been lucky to avoid a medical catastrophe. It's beautiful, and insightful, and brutally honest.
SUNNY AFTERNOON/BLACK DOG Nine in the evening and I am lying in bed watching TV on my laptop in my front room, Isabella sitting beside me in an armchair scoffing a vegan Magnum. The colour and noise of the screen begins to get bigger and harsher, as though someone is turning it

Can we all just stop for a minute and reflect on how many of the journalists being publicly attacked of late are women? The viciousness, the out-of-context quotes, the appallingly personal nature of it. It says something about Australia today that it's not being called out.
