HIGHWAY CLOSURE ALERT: All westbound lanes of HWY 183 are CLOSED between the Central Drive and Westpark Way exits due to a car crash. Please avoid the area if possible. First responders are on the scene.

In February, we shared news of Farish's arrest in connection with a fatal Fentanyl overdose of a 17-year-old Bedford man in our community. Due to a new law that went into effect in 2023, it is now a criminal offense of murder for supplying fentanyl that results in death.

Bedford Police responded to a terroristic threat at the Walmart Supercenter just before noon. Upon arrival, officers saw the store was already being evacuated. They detained a suspect. Officers cleared the building & arrested the suspect, charging him with a terroristic threat.

GAS LINE UPDATE (August 30, 10:55 a.m.): Atmos informed the City the permanent repairs to the gas line won't be able to be completed until next week. Until then, the inside eastbound lane will remain closed until it can be permanently repaired.

UPDATE (4:25 p.m.): The Fire Department has cleared the scene. Atmos is still working to permanently fix the line, and a police officer will remain on-scene until that is complete. Both westbound lanes are open, and one eastbound lane is open.
