Beckman closes their season 29-12 after a tough 4-0 loss to Wilton in the Substate final. The highest praise to JB, Joel, Mark, Camden, Funk, ER, Helle, Chubbs, and CJ for representing the program with such class. They did their part to keep the tradition alive. We love you boys!

Today, we pay tribute to long time coach Tom Jenk Sr, who helped coach the Blazers in parts of three decades. Tom enjoyed a stellar playing career for Iowa, Drake, and the Dyersville Whitehawks.

Nic Ungs was a P/IF for the Blazers before going on to play for UNI and professionaly reaching AAA with the Marlins and Brewers. Ungs smashed 17 HR for Beckman in '98, and was a dominating All-State force on the mound. Ungs is the Director of Baseball Ops for

Congrats to Luke Sigwarth for being named to the All-State Super Team! He is only the second underclassman in program history to be named to the Super Team. He was also named Captain of the 2A All-State Team.
Luke hit .456 with 47 hits, a .562 OBP and .699 SLG.

Tom Wegmann was a SS/P for the Blazers for 3 seasons, leading the program to a state title in '86. Tom went on to play at Muscatine C.C., as well as Mid Tenn. St. He pitched parts of 7 seasons in the minor leagues with a career 2.93 ERA, reaching as high as AAA with the

Sam Stelken was a 4-year letter winner as a P/OF for the Blazers. Sam compiled 127 hits in 4 seasons, with 70 RBIs and 48 SBs. On the mound, Sam registered 10 career victories and 123 Ks. During his senior campaign in 2017, Sam helped lead the Blazers to their 6th title.

Riley LeGrand was a three year letter winner for Beckman, having his career highlighted by an astounding senior season in which he led the Blazers to the state title, being selected the 2A State Captain. Riley led the team with a .485 AVG, to go along with 6 2B and 7 3B.

Coach Martin has been with the Blazer program for 18 seasons, entering his 2nd year as head coach after spending 16 years as Tom Jenk Jr’s assistant. Martin has aided in 4 state championships, helping produce countless All-State and collegiate players during his tenure.

Kurt Wedewer was a IF for the Blazers from 83-85. Wedewer had a pair of hits and three RBI’s for Beckman in the 1984 state title game, and finished .304 on the year. Wedewer was All-Conference, All-State, and an All-Star in his career, continuing collegiately at UNI.

Jake Hilmer of North Linn was selected as the captain of the Class 2A all-state baseball team, as chosen by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association.

Doug Klostermann was a LF for two years for the Blazers in 83-84. He was twice a 2nd Team All-E.C.I.C selection, ending his senior year with a state runner-up and an E.C.I.C Championship. Doug was also a tremendous basketball player, being named 1st Team All-E.C.I.C.

Lucas Jacque was a 3 year starter at C for the Blazers from 2010-2012. Lucas batted .388 for Beckman, knocking in 126 runs with 9 HRs. Known for his defensive prowess, he threw out 45 base stealers and led the Blazers to the 2012 state title. Lucas went on to play
