Every time Loyola had a good performance, like their W over UNI or Arch Madness, people (mostly non-Loyola fans) christened them this dominant MVC team above everyone else. People forget this version of LUC showed up consistently too. Its why they didn't win the regular season.

Feels like the NCAA picked regional matchups over who were actually the best teams. Washington St and Utah State being the best examples. Drake should be in, and the NIT should be 64 teams. A 24-10 MVC runner up with a hard fought champ game loss should be in the postseason.

Some may think I’m crazy, but I think we are headed to a point where B1G/SEC all get in automatically, and all the one bid league winners have to play a qualification tournament for a handful of spots. It’s what the big leagues want. They’re determined to ruin it.

I hope the NCAA continues to host the NIT and embraces it being a mid-major heavy event. They likely wont, but I hope they do.

I’m happy. Glad to continue to have a presence in Chicago. Loyola was terrible when they joined too. UIC has the resources and facilities to be competitive in the Valley. Just gotta put the pieces together. Belmont and Murray will keep the league competitive in the interim.
