The Board of Namib Desert Diamonds (NAMDIA) has suspended CEO Dr. Alisa Amupolo, Chief Operations Officer Uahoroka Kauta, and Security Manager Paulinus Sheyapo.  The decision follows an orchestrated violent diamond robbery that resulted in the death of NAMDIA employee Francis Eiseb. Meanwhile, Lelly Usiku, an economist and executive at NAMDIA, has been appointed interim CEO to ensure business continuity. Two suspects were arrested and one was killed during the robbery. “The decision to suspend the executives was not taken lightly,” the Board stated. “While we do not suspect any employees beyond those already in custody, this precautionary measure is in the best interests of the company and the integrity of the investigation,” the statement read.
