@realDonaldTrump Dear President Trump, I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Samuel Rock, and I am the founder of the Battle Buddy Response Team® (BBRT), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans and their families during times of crisis. Since 2019, BBRT has served as a critical lifeline for those who have sacrificed so much for our country, focusing on suicide prevention and providing direct, life-saving support. I am writing to respectfully highlight the significant role that TikTok has played in enabling BBRT to fulfill its mission. TikTok is more than just a social media platform for us—it is a powerful tool for raising awareness, engaging with veterans, and securing the community support necessary to sustain our operations. Here’s how TikTok has directly impacted our nonprofit: 1.Outreach to Veterans and Families: TikTok allows us to share vital mental health resources, crisis intervention tips, and messages of hope with a global audience of veterans and their families. It helps us reach those in need who may not be aware of the resources available to them. 2.Fundraising: Through TikTok’s unique engagement model, we have been able to connect with supporters who donate to our cause, enabling us to provide critical services such as transportation, outreach, and immediate crisis response. Building: TikTok fosters a sense of camaraderie and support within the veteran community by creating a platform where stories, struggles, and victories can be shared in a safe and relatable space. 4.Advocacy for Veteran Mental Health: TikTok allows us to amplify the voices of veterans, raise awareness about the challenges they face, and advocate for improved mental health resources. BBRT’s ability to continue its mission relies on platforms like TikTok that connect us with the communities we serve and the supporters who make our work possible. A disruption to this platform could significantly impact our reach, funding, and ability to save lives. As a leader who has consistently expressed deep respect for our nation’s veterans, I kindly ask you to consider the role that TikTok plays for organizations like BBRT. Your support in ensuring the continued availability of tools that empower nonprofits like ours would have a profound impact on the lives of those we serve. Thank you for your time and for your unwavering dedication to the well-being of our country. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this matter further and share more about BBRT’s mission and impact. #savetiktok #tiktok #VeteransLivesMatter

We talk about the Battle Buddy Response Team, a mission to prevent veteran suicide. Their support programs are saving lives, but they need help. While TikTok gifts aren't tax-deductible, direct donations through their website are. Every contribution counts to make a real difference for our heroes in crisis.

Veteran suicide is a complex issue influenced by various demographic factors. Below is an overview based on the latest available data: Age: •Younger Veterans (18-34 years): This group has exhibited higher suicide rates compared to older age groups. •Older Veterans (55-74 years): While the suicide rate is lower than that of younger veterans, this age group still represents a significant portion of veteran suicides. Gender: •Male Veterans: The majority of veteran suicides are among males. In 2021, the age-adjusted suicide rate for male veterans was 43.4% higher than that of non-veteran adult males. •Female Veterans: Although female veterans constitute a smaller percentage of the veteran population, their suicide rates are notably higher compared to non-veteran females. In 2021, the age-adjusted suicide rate for female veterans was 166.1% higher than that of non-veteran adult females. Race and Ethnicity: •Suicide rates among veterans vary across different racial and ethnic groups. From 2020 to 2021, veteran suicide rates fell across all racial groups. Method of Suicide: •Firearms: Firearms are the most common method of suicide among veterans. In 2021, 72.2% of veteran suicide deaths involved firearms, the highest percentage recorded for veterans over the last 20 years. Geographic Variation: •Suicide rates among veterans can vary by state and region. The VA provides state-level data to help design effective suicide prevention strategies tailored to specific areas. Service Era: •Veterans who served after September 11, 2001, have higher suicide rates compared to the U.S. population, with rates exacerbated by traumatic brain injuries. Additional Considerations: •LGBTQ+ Veterans: Studies indicate that LGBTQ+ veterans experience higher rates of suicidal ideation and attempts compared to their heterosexual counterparts. Understanding these demographics is crucial for developing targeted interventions to prevent veteran suicides. The VA continues to analyze these factors to inform and enhance its suicide prevention efforts. For more detailed information, refer to the VA’s official publications on veteran suicide prevention. #fyp #UnitedStates

Honoring Those Who Gave Everything, But Asked for Nothing In December 2020, we had the privilege of helping a Vietnam veteran who never asked for anything—yet deserved so much. Despite his service, sacrifice, and injuries from Agent Orange, he lived alone in a home that was falling apart. His only cooking appliance was a toaster oven, and he relied on bottled water for daily living after his water stopped working. With the help of a concerned community member, we stepped in and verified his service. Thanks to your support, we were able to: ✅ Install a new water heater and all-new electrical wiring ✅ Replace his flooring, front door, and add a handicap-accessible shower ✅ Deliver a new stove after discovering he couldn’t afford one This brave veteran’s resilience is a reminder of why we do what we do. There are many more veterans out there who need support but may never ask for help. If you believe in our mission and want to be part of stories like this, please consider donating to help us change more lives. 🔗 #battlebuddyresponseteam #VeteranSupport #VietnamVeteran #StopVeteranSuicide #SupportOurHeroes #NeverForget
