@SmalltownRascal @AnvilArts Good afternoon. Refreshments provided to the Mayor during engagements are funded by the organisers. The Mayor is entitled to receive an allowance to cover the cost of travel to visits and also for food if necessary.

Earlier this month, I joined the Basingstoke Foodbank team to help them pack Christmas hampers. The foodbank provides short to medium term emergency items, with a few days’ worth of food, toiletries, washing and basic cleaning products to people who have been referred.

I was welcomed by John Clark, who introduced me to Ian Francis, Wally Stamper (who took the photo for the top of the cake), Tony Wright and Bob Williams. I was very grateful to accept a cheque from the society towards my mayoral charities this year.
