Why do individuals with a higher VO2max often have a poorer exercise economy? A higher oxidative phosphorylation leads to increased ROS production. Larger ROS can be counteracted by higher mitochondrial uncoupling but this requires higher oxygen consump.

Happy with my half marathon debut yesterday @Venloop in 1:03:54 Had no clue what to expect so started off a little too slow in hindsight and eventually ran almost the entire race alone/in front of two other runners. Incredibly atmosphere during the run!
