My take on players new to fighting games playing on 2XKO and getting dunked is that you'll certainly find some diamonds in the rough by treating this all as a "trial by fire", but also recognize that a lot of us have basically rewired our brains through thousands of hours in FGs.

I think this is a good argument for improving a game's replay search and analysis tools so there's zero doubt whatsoever that everyone can and should study your prior matches
I once lost a tournament and after the match the guy came up to me and said "Thank goodness there's at least one replay of you playing this particular matchup in a set on YouTube, I'd never have won otherwise, ggs man!" So I totally get Fergus here.
