Additional measures to support landlords when rent is unpaid. This will also provide greater assurance to those considering renting out their secondary suites.
We are moving forward on developing a government supported insurance program for rental suites.
Most landlords and tenants have no issues but when rent goes unpaid for months or not at all it can be costly and can discourage more supply of housing.
