A week of relentless barbarity in Balochistan, particularly Makuran The Baloch Women Forum strongly condemns the alarming surge in state-sponsored terrorism, extrajudicial killings, and enforced disappearances in Balochistan. The recent incidents in Makuran, particularly Turbat and Pasni, are a stark reminder of the ongoing Baloch genocide. RECENT INCIDENTS 1. Sharif Zakir: A renowned teacher and scholar, attacked and harassed multiple times. His son and cousin were abducted, highlighting the state's blatant disregard for human life. 2. Hayat Sabzal: Forcibly disappeared by security forces on July 3, 2024, from Turbat. His mutilated body was found in Panjgoor on February 11, 2025, leaving his family traumatized. 3. Allah Dad: A young and brilliant Baloch scholar, targeted on February 4, 2025, in Turbat. His murder is a devastating loss for the Baloch nation. 4. Eleven Baloch Youth: Forcibly disappeared at Pasni and Kulanch (Chakkuli) adding to the growing list of enforced disappearances in Balochistan. 5: Asma Bibi: A Baloch daughter, Asma Bibi was forcefully dragged away, beating her family members, in the midnight of February 5-6 by the local state militias. After three days of her forced disappearance, and as a result of public reactions of blocking Balochistan’s routes, a forcefully-made video was brought on surface, which was negated after Asma was recovered. The main culprits remain out of state custody yet. The systematic targeting of Baloch youth, scholars, and intellectuals is a clear indication of the Baloch genocide. The state's actions are blatant violations of human rights and international laws. We call upon the international community, and human rights organizations to join us in condemning in practical terms the Baloch genocide.

It is regretting to witness that a 27-year-old Baloch girl, Asma Jatak Baloch, was forcefully detained by the local militias openly and the law enforcement agencies are failed to produce her despite continuos protests and nomination of the culprit. We believe that such tactics further justify the state’s involvement in intensifying such unethical and anti-Baloch policies, ensuring unrest in the Baloch society. The regional situations are worsened at a priority base with policies like enforced disappearances of the Baloch, blackmailing, drug addiction and so forth. Now, it has come to light that even Baloch women are not safe in their houses. Asma Jattak’s kidnapping and blackmailing the family is evident in unveiling all these faces. We request the Baloch nation to support Asma Baloch’s family and raise their voices against this oppression. #SaveBalochWomen #StopBalochGenocide

A collective and united mass movement is the only way to countering Baloch genocidal policies: Spokesperson Baloch Women Forum Baloch genocide has remained unabated for decades, with their changing forms, which we, as the Baloch Women Forum (BWF), denounce in the hardest and most critical terms. Along with the genocide of the Baloch national traits, including culture, language and economy, the direct and indirect means of victimization of Baloch bodies, including forced abduction, tortures and killing, have been the decided Baloch fate. Under the same Baloch genocidal policies, a fresh wave of enforced disappearances was adopted by state institutions in the wake of the 21st century, followed by dumping bodies inside towns and desolations. Similarly, on January 25, 2014, three various mass graves were found in Tootak, Khuzdar, inhabiting around 169 unidentified Baloch corpses who were previous victims of Enforced Disappearances. Under military parole, the local militias were involved in not only disappearing them through force, but inflicting severe nature of tortures, with available eye-witnesses. The stories of state dungeons are not anew though, but an addition to the state’s tactics to furthering the means of Baloch genocide. We believe that Baloch deserve a life full of opportunities, and not to be abducted and dumped silently in mass graves. Observing the Tootak graves, followed by similar nature of graves discovered in Mastung as well, we fear that there may be more of such cases in other corners of Balochistan. We also note that there is a media blackout in Balochistan. So, many cases of not only forced abduction but other sorts of brutalities go unreported. However, several Baloch areas are made as no-go areas which keeps us in doubt about such tensions. We, as BWF, are concerned about the growing Baloch genocidal policies with an increasing number of forced abductions, fake encounters and other means of harassing the Baloch. It shows how the state is following the formula of “Baloch land, not people” adopted from the word go. We urge the Baloch to stay united in such grief times because a collective and united mass movement is the only way to countering such genocidal policies when there is a state at the other end. We believe it is the MASSES who hold the power, no matter whosever is the opponent.

The Balochistan Saga: Miseries… Mourning… Vociferations In a latest series of events, notes the Central Spokesperson of the Baloch Women Forum (BWF), Balochistan’s miseries have intensified leaving the masses to mourn and vociferate. As we always observe, the region’s grievances are judged from a separate eye with the so-called parliamentarians working merely as nominal and for personal gains. In the between, Baloch suffer from increasing state’s institutional (all) repression systematically and collectively. We have timely reminded the state of precautions, but it has been heedless unnecessarily. The latest series of humanitarian crises – or let us consider them anti-Baloch policies – is even worse. On January 4, 2025, a young Baloch protest participant [in Hoshap’s sit-in against enforced disappearances of Abul Hassan and Zaman Baloch from Turbat, followed by fake charges and appearance in CTD custody in Qila Abdullah later] was driven on with a truck during the sit-in. His immediate shift in Turbat and then to Karachi for further treatment did not bear fruits causing his death in teen years. Other than state institutions, who can we hold responsible for such a deadly act on a constitutionally-reserved right of peaceful assembly (Article 16) for Habeas Corpus (Article 199)? Apart from this, Afzal Manzoor of Turbat and Zakriya Baloch of Gwadar were extra-judicially killed in custody and after release respectively. On December 8, 2024, Afzal Baloch was forcibly disappeared from Aapsar (Turbat), followed by forced abduction of his other two brothers, Ehsan Manzoor and Hamid Manzoor. Though the other two were released, Afzal failed to recover safely, marking yet another question mark on the face of the security forces. In a self-claimed bomb explosion, his body was kept to show his dead in the so-called explosion despite eye witnesses of his abduction by security forces from Aapsar. A similar case happened in Balgatar area of Kech previously where three forcibly disappeared Baloch were kept in a self-exploded car keeping the three corpses with marks of torture by the security forces. Yet another question on law enforcement agencies remains unanswered. Zakriya Baloch faced a similar fate. He was forcibly disappeared from the port city by the security forces and released later. When he joined his routine life after the trauma of forced disappearance, he was shot martyred by what they term “unknown armed men”. The same known “unknowns” have already attacked on several Baloch who were once victims of enforced disappearances by forces in Kech and Gwadar districts particularly. Though Zakriya’s case is not new, his attackers will keep being “unknown”. Other than this, Baloch people, number over 10, were forcibly disappeared from Zehri area of Khuzdar district after the Zehri incident this month. As a consequence, the forces targeted the civilians with forced disappearances, against which the local residents had blocked the Karachi-Quetta road from Soorab. Though some were recovered, but few still wait their fate of being safely recovered from the state’s illegal dungeons. The selected parliamentarians were eager to condemn the insurgent attack, but failed to stand by the civilians when they were disappeared on gunpoint, which testifies their nominal status as public representatives. We, at the BWF, believe that state has taken the Baloch for granted. Such stance has been fueling the Baloch hatred towards the state and its institutions. Upon their failure to cope with the Baloch concerns, we urge the human rights champions of Pakistan, region and the world to put pressures on the state and its concerned institutions to cease continuous Baloch rights violations. We also call on the Baloch masses to join hands systematically against such state oppressions and resist it in every possible term and forum. Perhaps, our collective resistance is our most significant and utmost remedy. Spokesperson Baloch Women Forum

An FIR was lodged against Dr. Shalee Baloch, Zakia Baloch, Arz Malik Baloch and other locals for conducting and joining the seminar on Lumma-E-Watan Banuk Karima Baloch held in Teertej on December 21, 2024, alleging that the seminar was anti-state and children were brainwashed. For so many times, state institutions are directly involved in basic human rights violations of the locals. Instead of terming those violations anti-state acts to distort the peace of the region and playing tricks with the minds of the children, they have lodged an FIR on a peaceful ceremony which was to pay tribute to the Baloch leader. We denounce the FIR lodged against Forum’s central leaders and the local residents and ask the state institutions to refrain from hindering the way for peaceful politics in the society.
