@Brandon_N_Wile @BNightengale Other teams are in an impossible situation: overpay to an insane degree, hamstringing their ability to make other moves, or lose the guy to the Dodgers. It would be different if nobody else was making competitive offers!

@JeffPassan Other teams have become their farm system. Ohtani, Betts, Freeman, Glasnow, Snell, Scott… none of them are homegrown. At least the late 90s/early 2000s Yankees developed some of their guys. Baseball needs young fans who believe their team can compete more than a super villain!
