It has become traditional in the

department to name a practice room after a departing music teacher. When Mr Fay was asked if he had lined up *his* room he answered: “I dunno, the toilet?”
So today as Mr Fay retires after 23 years at BWS we proudly present to you...
1300 staff and students in perfect alignment for the taking of the whole school photograph this morning. Details of how to purchase the official photo will be sent to parents in due course...

Mrs Redmill (

teacher) has been busy painting at home using a mixture of watercolours, coloured pencils and soft pastels to produce this stunning picture of a tiger. Don’t panic year 7 parents, Mrs Redmill says she won’t be asking the boys to paint one for homework...
Another fantastic lockdown painting by

It's our 131st Birthday today thanks to John Wordsworth, Bishop of Salisbury from 1885-1911 and his vision that he would "like to see Salisbury as a great educational centre. I should like to found a school which shall be equal to the greatest and best of our public schools."
Congratulations to Jake who took first prize and the title of "Young International Garden Photographer of the Year" at the IGPOTY Awards Ceremony held at Kew Gardens on Friday.

Over 75% of the grades were at A*-B; at 190 this was our biggest year group yet. Our students secured 20 places to study at Oxford and Cambridge. 52 of our boys and girls gained all of their results at A*/A, and an extraordinary 13 passed every A level paper that they took at A*
Our amazing students decided that instead of "Secret Santa" gifts for each other they would all make a small donation to
@CAFOD
World Gifts.
They have raised nearly £1500 which has purchased the following items for families in developing countries:-

Each day this week we will be posting the story of one of our Alumni who gave their life in active service as part of our

I am delighted to inform you that the issues with the fire alarms have now been resolved and that BWS will be back to normal on Monday with all students in school.
Thank you again for your patience and support over the last few days.

Our biggest ever year group can be very proud of what they have achieved; at 81% A*-B the headline figure is barely changed from last summer (TAGs) and this represents very significant progress on our last set of A level stats in summer 2019
