@PeteHegseth Pete, former Blackhawk instructor pilot here. I resigned during COVID due to the jab and the culture. I'm currently a major airline pilot. Seriously thinking of returning to the ranks after seeing such a swift course correction.

@ginacarano @Disney @Lucasfilm Pretty soon you won't have to sit in the back of airplanes anymore. It has been a pleasure watching you stay true to your moral grounding and push back against the machine. Karma is real, and it's payout is far more than the dollars coming you way.

Retired Blackhawk instructor pilot here, and current major airline pilot (I flew for PSA - the airline in the incident) . It seems impossible, but the simple fact is that we're human. Flying night vision goggles is a tough thing to do - there is no depth perception, and it's easy to mistake aircraft for ground lights and vice versa. This, combined with the fact that the hawk was flying 150ft above the route structure's maximum altitude is very likely the two fatal mistakes. Add in the fact that this was a military aircraft that was not reporting TCAS (traffic collision avoidance system) for the jet's TCAS system to recognize the potential collision and you've got a recipe for disaster.
